GR Herkules CY25 from Spalter Hopfen is Germany's dominant high-alpha variety — the workhorse that bitters a large share of the country's commercial beer. It's a fit for any style needing efficient, clean bitterness, from pilsner to stout, and its economics per IBU are among the best in the program.
Expect clean, assertive bitterness with subtle spicy floral notes in heavy use. Herkules is a first-wort and early-kettle hop by design: high alpha, low dosing, minimal vegetal load, and consistent utilization batch to batch.
This hop is available in 11 lb foils and 44 lb boxes. As with any bittering workhorse, the 44 lb box is the value play for production breweries; the 11 lb foil suits pilot systems and lower-volume operations.
Hop analysis values vary by crop year and lot. The CY25 lot runs 16.1% alpha; for exact alpha, beta, and total oil values, refer to the COA or contact our team. Cold-stored in Fort Worth and Atlanta and lot-documented from Spalt to your dock.
