Oxine
Oxine - 1 Gallon Jug is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Oxine is a 2% stabilized chlorine dioxide solution — an EPA-registered disinfectant and no-rinse sanitizer that works from the brewhouse to the tap. It delivers the kill power of hypochlorite and peracetic chemistries without the corrosion, fumes, or odor that make those a headache to live with.
It's a broad-spectrum biocide: bacteria including spore formers, viruses, algae, and mold, and it kills most beer spoilage organisms at low ppm. It's fast-acting on pathogens and biofilms, non-foaming, and non-corrosive on metals when used as directed. Two things brewers especially value: it makes an excellent yeast wash — eliminating contaminants without jeopardizing your production culture — and it's environmentally non-persistent, breaking down without forming THMs or chlorinated organics.
One critical step: Oxine must be activated. The active component is free chlorine dioxide, which is released only when the use dilution is adjusted to pH 5–6 with phosphoric or citric acid. Unactivated, it will not sanitize. For a sanitizing rinse on stainless and other hard non-porous food-contact surfaces — tanks, transfer lines, processing equipment — use a 100 ppm activated solution. Always follow label directions. Available in 1-gallon jugs and a 4-gallon case of four jugs.
Colorless liquid, slight chlorine odor, non-foaming, metal-safe as directed. The SDS and technical data sheet are linked below. Ships LTL on your pallet only, never by parcel carrier — and we charge no hazmat fees, ever.
