Food-grade lactic acid for brewing water adjustment. The standard choice for lowering mash and sparge pH into the target range, and for acidifying sparge water on lighter-colored beers where the grain bill provides little acidity of its own.

Lactic acid is favored for water treatment because it's flavor-neutral at typical brewing additions and works predictably — unlike acidulated malt, it lets you dial pH precisely without touching your grain bill. It's also used for acid rinses and pH correction in cleaning programs.

Dosage depends entirely on your water chemistry, grain bill, and target pH — use a water calculator or your own measurements rather than a fixed rate. Always add acid to water, never the reverse. Available in 1-gallon jugs, 5-gallon pails, and 55-gallon drums.

Corrosive — wear appropriate PPE and store away from bases. The safety data sheet is linked below. Ships LTL on your pallet only, never by parcel carrier — and we charge no hazmat fees, ever.
