Ace Defoamer is a 10% active, food-grade silicone antifoam for foam control anywhere in the brewery it becomes a problem — brewkettles, fermenters, yeast propagation, and blow-off buckets. It's FDA-authorized as a secondary direct food additive permitted in food for human consumption, and it's formulated specifically for filtered beers.

If you're converting from another chemical program, this is the direct replacement for Birko Antifoam 10, Birko All-Purpose Antifoam, and Five Star Defoamer 105 — same job, same chemistry class. A knocked-down kettle foam cap means bigger effective batch sizes, and controlled fermentation krausen means less blow-off loss.

Dosing is by the drop: add about one drop per five gallons during agitation, ideally before foaming starts rather than after. Subsequent additions are fine, but never exceed the FDA maximum of 200 ppm — roughly one drop per gallon. Available in 1-gallon jugs and a 4-gallon case of four jugs.

White liquid emulsion, near-neutral pH, non-foaming by definition. It complies with 21 CFR 173.340 up to the 200 ppm limit. The SDS and technical data sheet are linked below. Non-hazardous: ships parcel or rides your pallet from Fort Worth or Atlanta — and we charge no hazmat fees, ever.
