Kveik Yeastery K.14 Eitrheim - 300g
Multi-strain kveik from Tokheim, dried.
The Eitrheim kveik comes from Reidar Eitrheim in Tokheim, Norway, near Odda in the heart of the Hardangerfjord. It has been passed down for generations; Reidar got it from his grandfather. K.14 is an original blend of kveik cultures rather than a single isolated strain.
Flavor: apricot and peach up front, with secondary notes of orange and pineapple. Intensity is medium at warm fermentation temperatures and softer when run cooler.
Fermentation: 59 to 100°F, and faster the warmer it runs. At 88 to 95°F, expect fermentation to finish in about 72 hours. Very versatile: IPAs, pale ales, NEIPAs, stouts and porters.
Dosing: one 300 g resealable pouch treats up to 10 HL. Below 64°F or on high-gravity worts, raise the pitch to 60 g/HL. For high-gravity beers, pitch two pouches and add yeast nutrient. Certified organic.
