gr-northern-brewer-cy25
GR Northern Brewer Hops – CY25 – Spalter Hopfen

GR Northern Brewer CY25 from Spalter Hopfen is a true classic — the dual-purpose variety that defined California common and remains a fixture in Altbier and dark beer brewing. It's a fit for steam beer, Altbier, stout, and traditional English-influenced styles where a woody backbone belongs in the profile.

Expect a woody, minty, rustic character unlike anything in the modern flavor catalog — evergreen and resinous rather than fruity. Northern Brewer earns its dual-purpose label honestly: it bitters cleanly in early additions and contributes its signature character late, often doing both jobs in the same recipe.

This hop is available in 11 lb foils and 44 lb boxes. Choose the 11 lb foil for style-specific brands like a steam beer or Alt; choose the 44 lb box when it runs across multiple recipes.

Hop analysis values vary by crop year and lot — confirm current alpha, beta, and total oil for the active lot on the COA or with our team before final recipe calculations. Cold-stored in Fort Worth and Atlanta and lot-documented from Spalt to your dock.
